She looked up at the building with dismay.

“I think this is it… ” Marci said.

“Do we have to go in there momma?” Tammy whispered. The tears were sitting just on the edge of her 10 year old daughter’s lashes.

“Yes baby. Gi Gi didn’t have anyone else.” Dread knotting her stomach.

It had been a decade since they had spoken, but when Marci’s grandmother had passed, she had left everything in her will to her only granddaughter.

The superintendent opened the door to a completely empty room except for a faded note taped to the window.

“Dear Marcialla…”

    • I KNOW! I need to finish this story because I have left quite a cliff hanger, huh? I promise I will follow up. But right now I have to rearrange my priorities and unfortunately my blog is not in the top 5 or maybe even 10. I have done pretty well with my boundaries this semester. My plate is very full, but almost everything on there is MY stuff. I have used the N O word more than once and didn’t feel TOO guilty *sigh* (still a work in progress) but there is some freedom in setting those boundaries up, and the world didn’t end or anything!! ha ha! 😀
