Elevator? Or not…..

“Try the blue one!” Mary screamed

“I DID!” said her brother Gary

“The YELLOW one then!” she told him

“I did! They don’t work!” he yelled back at her.

When the twins ventured into the abandoned elevator, the doors had snapped shut and wouldn’t reopen.

They frantically started pushing the colored buttons on the wall. Nothing worked.

“Push the red and blue one together.” said Mary

Gary tried the buttons and the elevator began to shake. When the doors opened, they were no longer on the roof.

“Where are we?” he said.

“I think a better question is WHEN are we?”

    • Oooo it kind of does, doesn’t it?? I always write my story before reading anyone else’s. It seems I wasn’t the only one with a time machine… other world kind of door. Sounds like a lot of us want to escape. *sigh* A door means different things to different people. Thanks so much for stopping by Rochelle… 🙂

  1. Sandra expressed my thoughts, except she injected a finger which I thought was much more dramatic than my imagined metal handle. But then again, i think we’re both thinking of time machines and not new-fangled time elevators.

I’ll get off on the 34 floor. Roofs scare me.

    • Are you afraid of heights Randy? I don’t particularly like roofs either but it isn’t because I am scared of them… I have vertigo that will make my head swim on the 3rd rung of a ladder. But it didn’t keep me from skydiving! LOL! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

    • Thanks much Suznne! It does sound like a good idea to me too… I actually came up with this idea from an old Saturday morning show called Land of the Lost. They would come upon these “pylons” they hoped would eventually get them home.
